This summer I got a gig working as a bartender and I've been learning about a bunch of new drinks and just wanted to hear what you guys have ever mixed up. Here are some of the common ones i get from time to time:
Screwdrivers
Madras - basically a screwdriver with splash of cranberry
Rum Punch - Cpt Morgan (or whatever spiced rum) mixed with pineapple juice, Cranberry, club soda, and top it off with Myer's Dark Rum
Lori - simple Vodka + Soda water + dash of cranberry
obvious drinks like Cosmopolitans, Manhattans, Martinis, etc.
Blue Hulk - Bombay Sapphire Gin, tonic, little bit of Blue Curacao
Transfusion - Vodka, grape juice, ginger ale
then you get all those 2 part drinks i.e. gin + tonic, rum + coke
PS. Why is the long island iced tea considered a bitch drink? It has a good amount of some hard liquor -- vodka, rum, tequila, gin. Same with a martini? It's basically straight up gin/vodka.
Got any good stuff to mix?
I've mixed Absolut Vanilla with root beer and it's tasted like a root beer float. I really want to try a shot called a chocolate cake shot. Frangelico liqueur is half of it and it smells amazingly good...almost like hot chocolate mix and the other half is some sort of vodka (usually vanilla vodka) with a splash of white cream on top. Sounds good.
I'm guessing most of you drink beer, no?

½ oz golden rum
½ oz apricot brandy
2 oz pineapple juice

He's not asking for your fave drink. He wants mixed drink ideas.
I woulda said BEER too, if he was looking for my fave bevvie.
Anyway...
I love Irish Carbombs too. Just a boilermaker/depth charge with:
1 shot irish whiskey (Jameson, etc)
1/2 pint Guinness
Drop the shot into the Guinness and drink like there's no tomorrow.

I prefer J&B on the rocks and using trippers penis as a swizzle stick. It adds a hint of flavor to the concoction.

Beerz.
Learn the different types of beers. Real simple stuff like lagers, ales, stouts, wheats,etc... Odds are your bar won't be holding more then 10 beers.
Boilermakers are good. Like Zoner said, boilermakers are good. I tend to use more then a pint though, mainly because I'm gonna drink the other half so may as well down it all. Just a beer, or half a beer, then dropping a shot of whiskey in and slam it down. Normally use cheap whiskey. Highest class I got with was Jack, so anything in that area is fine.
My roomate works at Friday's and has to make probably the most ridic drinks ever. Half the shit is glowing, other half is in some large glass with fruit in it.

While I don't always drink beer, when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
Stay thirsty my friends.
