Default Script help: my guys will crouch walk but then stand up - 10-03-2002, 04:30 PM

I am putting some final touches on my sp map. I get my guys to follow me and crouch walk (or run if I want) but every time I stop, they stand up like dummies and get themselves sniped.

Any suggestions on how I can keep their heads down?

Heres my script:

level.friendly1.position = "crouch"
level.friendly2.position = "crouch"
level.friendly3.position = "crouch"
level.friendly4.position = "crouch"
level.friendly1 exec global/moveto.scr anim/crouch_walk.scr local.t500
level.friendly2 exec global/moveto.scr anim/crouch_walk.scr local.t500
level.friendly3 exec global/moveto.scr anim/crouch_walk.scr local.t500
level.friendly4 exec global/moveto.scr anim/crouch_walk.scr local.t500

you can get the ai to follow you??? I've been trying this for years, please tell me how to do this

Divaid, it wasn't too hard to make friendly AI follow your, all I did was add an Allied Soldier, give him a name of Friendly instead of enemy, and give him and Key/Value of #fnum/*, star being any number you like and then in the script you can change all the friendlys properties by using
level.friendly*
You will also need to put path nodes in depending on which friendtype you use. You will need to give these nodes a targetname of friendlynode and a #set number of 1-600.

I have put together a little demo map of AI patrolling, Friendly AI, Cardgames and Vehicle Paths. Let me know your email address and i'll send it you.
