grenade realism -

ok personally when you see grenades in ps2 MOH and grenades on the comp version there is a major difference. PS2 grenades act alot more realistic, PC grenades seem to bounce several time like their made of rubber or something. if youve played both versions youll know what im talking about, when a grenade is thrown it should onlygo a few extra feet from where it landed correct. to me thats justan annoting thing to see all that realism and then a grenade bouncing up 6 feet high............ oOo: oOo: M16:

Yes, but lying down 10 feet from a grenade shouldn't kill you either. Maybe you'll catch a little bit of the blast, but to kill you? The nades in AA piss me off. mad:

well i never knew nades could be avoided if they were right underneath you..............anywho personally i like the ps2 nades........however if you want to have PC nades just go to the ps2 passwordq typewriter and type in boing......this will give you rubber grenades that will continuously bounce until explosion. biggrin:

I agree. The nades in Ameica's Army are teh best represenation of an actual grenade.
Lying down 10 feet away would probably kill you. Killing/wounding radius of a currant frag gernade is 5 meters, something like 25 feet. Well if you are laying down in that with your head up, just like it would be in game, you would take shrapnel to the face/brain. Something tells me you would be dead.
Mohaa nades are a joke. I cant count how many times i've watch a nade land 5 feet in front of me and me say "ah shit" only to have it blow and me be slightly wounded or untouched. angel: waht a joke.

A fragmented grenade can kill a victim with shrapnel up to 50 feet. Supposedly the Allied grenades are fragmented but the Axis are not. Personally I don't see any difference. But yeah the nades do bouce too damn much. Those grenades are a lot heavyer than you would think so they should not bounce much.

Grenades are freaking heavy. When i tossed my two in basic it was kinda hard. The form they had you use and the weight combined made for a hard throw. No baseball toss allowed in basic.
As for the 50 foot kill with a nade. It is possible, the guy at the range said that framents could fly like 500, though they would only really wound someone after 100, 150 feet. And even at that range the shrapnel is so spred out its bad luck if you were hit.
The 25 feet is the radius. Meaning that all together the blast diameter is 50 feet. That may be where you heard the 50.

If there were to be a nade realism mod it would be like this. THe nades would explode a few seconds after the pin is pulled. You see players running around with a nade in there hand and it doesnt go off. Any suggestions or complaints to my idea?

If i had the brains and scripting skills of scorpio i would do it. In fact i probabaly can make a nade mod after the pin is pulled itll explode. Itll require some scripting im sure. Ill ask around and see how i can make this mod come to life.

Well u couldnt go running around with a axis grenade forever as there is no secondary safety trigger. Now correct me it I am wrong but allies grenades have the seconday safety handle so in theory u could go running around with it. But I agree completly that the nades are pure garbage in MOHAA. The killing radius of the nades seems to be random. On the hunt a nade that lands on the road has more killing radius than that same nade that lands on the grass. (some thick grass i guess) and on v2 u can chuck a nade into the control and as long as your on the opposite side of the table from the nade your okay. unlikely. But probably not much can be done for these strange nades, oh well I will continue have my nade explode in my face 2 feet away because someone else's nade set it off.
