I got to a college with at least 1,000 computers. I don't believe we have any cameras, except maybe covering entrances/exits. There are no cameras in the labs or classes.

if you have nothing to hide why stop them from searching it? iv been patted down/ bags searched / lockers searched many times. i had nothing to hide so why worry? the only cameras my school has is a digital camera that the yearbook uses. no one bothers to steal anything (well maby rubber bands from the art room & little stuff like that)

Its not a matter of having "nothing to hide" - its a matter of civil liberties that ARENT suspended just because youre a kid in a school. Certainly post-Columbine people are wary of folks who have "something to hide" but you know what if there is no reasonable suspicion then they can shove their shit up their ass. Sorry but the law has no right to assume guilt until innocence is proven. But hey - those that give up civil liberties for a brief amount of peace deserve neither.

I hate fuckin people that say "i have my rights, you can't search me" etc. Its the same people who stand out on the street blocking traffic when they feel there is an injustice and then when things get out of hand and they start smashing shit, then the police retaliate they get all pissed off and call police brutality. Outfit my school with cameras, yes my school has cameras but its not poor its just that my school is fucking huge so it cant possibly outfit every room with one. Anyways we do have security gaurds patrolling the building all the time.
