I love my Mosin Nagnt 91/30. It is very accurate, and not to heavy. Though it is very long and that can be a pian. Personally I like the Nagnt M38 beacuase it does not have a bayonet like the M44 does. The M38 is a carbine, and is very light, but does have a kick. Plus 7.62x54r ammo is not to expensive. Also an SKS is a great option. The Yugo SKS are cheap and really really good guns. Plus 7.62x39 is pretty cheap itself.

Have you ever gone duck hunting? The majority of people use semi auto shotties for waterfowl.
I have friends who use semi's to deer hunt, and friends who use them for ducks..........
I prefer my bolt action Remington for deer and my Remington pump for ducks. gg

Yes, I like the carbine a lot. The best thing is you can get one for about 80 bucks US around here. However, I had a friend that bought one, it was great, except it took 3 of us, Yes the Duke included, to get the bolt back open after we fired it. oOo: He took it back and got a full refund, apparently it had a spur on the bolt somewhere.... Still, they can be good guns.

I can help you. In Michigan if you are over 18 and are not a felon, mental case or have a restraining order against you, you can buy alot. If you need a pistol you need a permit. It is simple go to the local police dept pay $5 they run you and if you check out you walk out with a perchause permit. NO WAITING PERIOD. If you want a long gun, the skys uhe limit. No permit needed all you have to do is go through an "instant" backroung check. (instant checks can take up to 3 days) if you want to avoid the instant check get the pistol permit and that will work as your instant check.
It is worth your drive to go to Fenton and visit Guns Galore. They have an awesome selection and have the best prices I have found in the state. With the assault weapons ban ending I have noticed most military type weapons have dropped drastically in price. They have all kinds of goodies AKs, AR15s, SKSs, M1s and most other WWII weapons. Go there and prepare to walk out with a woody!!!!

HAW HAW HAW!!! When I read the first couple of posts here I immediately thought "Stackem can help this guy." I scroll doen to the end and you've already posted. Thanks Stackem, I got a good chuckle of that.
BTW - What do the police do with the info they collect? In Illinois you had to have a Gun Owners Card if you owned any type of firearm. I hated that. One of the many reasons I had to get out of there.

they really dont collect any info. The backround check isbecause of that Brady bitch!!!! The Brady bill is a joke criminals dont buy thier stuff at
stores, they buy it on the streets. My last "instant" check took 3 hours
Michigan is a pretty good state to own firearms, for now. We have this loony Canadian bitch as a Governor so things may change.
I would like to add one thing. I hope you have someone to teach you care and handling of a firearm THEY ARE NOT TOYS.
