[quote="Duke_of_Ray":2eb2d]Im not to much into religion, as it gets you nowhere. It is a true personal relationship with the Lord in my opinion that gets you the true happiness that life has to offer. Personally I believe this can only be achieved by accepting Christ. Now you can say that Chrisitanity is religion, but if you truly follow the word of God, it really is nothing like religion. As for three religions believing in the same God, only Jews and Christians believe in the same God, I suppose you think Muslims do also, but this is false.[/quote:2eb2d]

That is nothing but a lie for the first thing you said...Religion has not just helped spiritually but has helped people become more responsible in their life and actually makes them look forward to something in the afterlife.

In my opinion the only worthwhile religions are budhism/taosim, as they are more guildlines for living than a religion.

The core values of most major religions, are great, but religion has been so perverted that it causes more problems than it solves.

I think the world would be better off without most of the major religions.

I also am shocked at how ridiculous some of the things people believe anymore are.......

RELIGION, n. A daughter of Hope and Fear, explaining to Ignorance the
nature of the Unknowable.
You need to research your religions deeper if you think Budhism and Taosim are the only religions with strong core values. Just because Christianity/Judaism/Islam have been corrupted into the disgusting messes that they are today doesn't mean that all religions are.

If followed correctly religion should be a guide to live by. I don't think anyone should live their life by the words of bible or anything like that because that's not the way it's ment to be taken. Religion only causes problems because the religious leaders are currupted. If the religion was taught properly then there would be none of these religion based wars.

As for religion in public. I don't think it should have any involvment in school or government. Religion is a personal issue and it should stay that way. It shouldn't be in schools because there are far too many religions to give them each an equal support. I don't think religion should be in government because government is inheritly currupt. Add a currupt religion into the mix and you have a holocaust waiting to happen.

Yes but here in the U.S , we started off with religious rights and now people are getting expelled just for praying to their god before eating lunch or before a basketball game...Which I think is quite harsh...But as for teaching it yes you are right.. Thats what christian schools are for, which my older sister whos in college right now goes to a private christian college...

Don't believe in any organised religion, it's all just streams of excuses dreamt up to hide the fact we don't have any real answers for anything.

Thats along the lines of what I was thinking. Most religions just dont make sense. IE, the bible. No offense to some christians etc, but what a load of bullshit. My friend is religious, and when i asked him, if god created the world as well as humans in seven days , then how come dinosaurs are 100s of millions of years older than us? He tells me that carbon dating isnt accurate. Honestly, he is so fucking stupid sometimes. Then i ask him, well, then how come god let 12 million people(6 million jews, and 6 million others) die in concentration camps during the holocaust. He tells me it was their time to go. God danm he is so fucking stupid sometimes. And get this, he tells me that no matter what somebody does, if hes sorry, then you have to forgive him! Fuck that, a kid bullied me all through 8th and for part of 9th grade. Finally, id had enough, i went and beat the shit out of him. Im not gonna forgive that piece of shit even if he was sorry, even four years later. Oh, and what is somebody murdered your parents, and then he said he was sorry? How the hell am I supposed to forgive him. ....
