What are your opinions on religion?

I believe that the core beliefs of most religions are great, and that in its purest form religion is a good thing, but i also believe most religions have been twisted into something they were never meant to be.

In my opinion the only worthwhile religions are budhism/taosim, as they are more guildlines for living than a religion.

The core values of most major religions, are great, but religion has been so perverted that it causes more problems than it solves.

I think the world would be better off without most of the major religions.

I also am shocked at how ridiculous some of the things people believe anymore are.......

RELIGION, n. A daughter of Hope and Fear, explaining to Ignorance the
nature of the Unknowable.

the teachings of most religions are great, and are pretty much the same, hell, 3 of the 5 majors believe in the same god... organized religion is a problem in the way any corporation is, it's a business now...

Im not to much into religion, as it gets you nowhere. It is a true personal relationship with the Lord in my opinion that gets you the true happiness that life has to offer. Personally I believe this can only be achieved by accepting Christ. Now you can say that Chrisitanity is religion, but if you truly follow the word of God, it really is nothing like religion. As for three religions believing in the same God, only Jews and Christians believe in the same God, I suppose you think Muslims do also, but this is false.

im southern baptist. i dont really practice, and i hold a higher standard for those that do. imo if you are going to talk the talk ... but what i typically find is people talking the talk only.

i think religion is necessary. people just arent going to be good people on their own.

Right, I agree. I admit I do a pretty poor job of representing what I believe. I wish I did better, but I do believe the only way to heaven is through Jesus, though I do not think Christian are better than anyone else, they are not. I just believe it is the only way.........

religion is a topic i like to steer clear, but when it comes down to it, im a christian. i believe jesus was the messiah but i do respect the muslim and jewish views. from the muslim view, God is the almighty and perfect and Jesus was just a prophet sent down to earth to tell people to have faith in God.. The jews believed that Jesus was the messiah untill refused King David's throne. So the jews believe that Jesus wasnt their messiah and they are still waiting for someone to free them from their oppression.. But what really makes sense to me, is hinduism, the whole karma thing from past experiances.
