There is no 6x AGP.

2x AGP is old format that hasn't been used in a decade.

4x/8x is normal AGP. Any current AGP card will work in it. The number has to do bandwidth. 8x AGP has twice the bandwidth of 4x AGP. If you only have 4x, you might lose a few frames but there won't be too much of a difference.
