Heh, you wont see a battleship around my parts, but we do have some nice boats down in the southern parts of Sweden, I know we have one called Visby. Anyways, my function in the army (once my basic training is over), is to guard the Air base where Im stationed atm, plus a lot of different storage facilities all over the mid parts of Sweden. I also act in a striketeam, educated in city warfare. Also, I will be acting as armed escort for convoys and VIP's.
And to answer some questions; Yes, I am proud of serving my country. Im also proud to be one of the last 50 or so to ever serve on this particular base, since the government has decided to cut down on the army here in Sweden. The particular base is called F4, and has been around since 1926, which means its Swedens oldest Airforce base.
I also saw this as a great opportunity to get in shape again, after my "sit down and answer the phone"-job. Ive already started to notice a great difference in both bodymass, muscles and fatigue, which is pretty good for just three weeks, methinks.

'Ello again all. If you want me to stop digging this thread up, I will. Otherwise, Ill keep going with this one.
Anyways, we had our first fieldtraining this week. -30 C was the coldest it got, and that was the night we tried patrolling an enclosed area for the first time. Ive got some photos that Ill try and upload asap. Other than that, nothing much., Just the basic disaassembling/reassembling of the gun and some other stuff. Anyways, I just finished my "education" on the knife, so Im now allowed to wear a knife in duty. I just wanted to know if anyone had a suggestion on what knife to get?

KABAR makes nice military blades. If you can even get your hands on one.

Other than that - if I were you, I'd ask someone in my unit.
