I was in a deli buying some orange juice with my sister's then boyfriend. There was a television in the store showing the first tower going down, then the second plane hitting the second tower. My jaw dropped, and soon after we payed for the items, he convinced me to take a walk to where it all went down. I knew it was a dumb idea, but I went anyway. We were fairly close to that area anyway, and we walked as far as we could actually see things. We then went back home, where my sister waited for us. A few hours later, we all took a walk around for a while, and we noticed how changed everything was in just a few moments. I'd never seen Manhattan like that. It was empty, and looked like an actual wasteland.
