Attacks on our own soil shook up to the core. I just woke up from my wifes dorm and jumped in the car to go home and get my work clothes. I turned on sportsradio wanting to hear some commentary on the sports world and heard the radio guy say "We would love to talk about sports right now but a plane has flown into one of the world trade center towers, this is something big" I remember thinking it was total horseshit and they were gagging. Then I got home and saw the tower smoking with a huge hole in the side of it. I still remember it vividly and watching that second tower being hit live on tv. It was a surreal experience and I can say that on that day with all the rumors spreading about attacks in different areas it was the 1st day I was ever afraid from watching televison.

Lest we forget those who have lost their live on that day.

RIP to those who died in New York, The Pentagon and in that field in Pennslyvania.

Walked downstairs in my boxers to find some trousers that had been ironed. And heard my dad shout "oh shit" from the living room, I walked in to see what he'd done, to just catch the second plane fly into the tower.

RIP all those that died on that tragic day.

Woke up, took a shower, was told that "We were under attack", and went to school.

I had just dropped my daughter off at school and on the way home I heard about the first plane on the radio. I got home and told my wife. We turned on the TV and a couple of minutes later the second tower was hit. I had planned on being home and working out of my home office that day so I was able to sit in front of the TV and watch it all day.

I've been listening to Howard Stern's rebroadcast of his show from that day. I wish all Americans would remember the raw emotion, fear, and anger from that day. I wish they would take the time to listen to the horror in the broadcasters voices as the towers fell. I wish they could hear the chaos of that day and the sirens of emergency vehicles rushing to the towers. I wish they would all say a prayer for the families of those brave men that went up the stairs to try and save people.

I was asleep in my bachelor pad and my buddy John called.

John: "Ger, turn on the TV."
Me: "Dude. it's like 9 a..."
John: "Just do it."

*turns on the tv*

Me: "Goddamn. Dubya's gonna be pissed."

That was honestly my first thought. I watched in raptured horror as the second plane hit. Then, I got nervous. I was about a 10 minute walk from Parliament Hill. I thought that would be a logical target too.

I had just entered my World History class in 10th grade and my teacher had a TV there showing the news and I did not hear or see about it until then. It was crazy/unbelieveable.
