OK -

( 1 ) Winners of the EA Map contest already know that they won - they have had to sign nondisclosure contracts etc

( 2 ) EA Will prob either (a) Release the details as part of the runup to the release of Spearhead or (b) release the details when spearhead comes out

well from what I have heard threw the grapevine...
I dont know if this true.. and I sure hope it isnt..

What someone told me is ALL the maps from MOH/AlliedAssault will not work with the expansion pack.
Any map made before the expansion can not be played with the expansion.
There having a brush issue.
And the map contest winners maps are not working correctly.
Honestly. I dont believe it.
I cant think of a reason why they wouldnt work.

I seriouly dont think they would release it with such a problem.
lets all hope not.

Again.. this just a rumor
I dont know if its true..

The current maximum vis data size in Medal of Honor: AA is 220,000 this was increased to 440,000 in Spearhead as the levels are even more detailed,

This might have something to do with it

WHAT?

Will that mean we all have to re-release the maps again to make them playable with the add-on?? - Crazy!!!

This would frustrate a lot!

I'll try and get some sort of confirmation of that - but I can't promise anything

Great thanks, ´cause I´m currently doing another new map.

But how would that affect the original MP and SP maps? So I hope this rumor proves to be wrong! Can´t imagine that they "redo" the original maps for the little add-on.

A little birdie told me it was mainly spawn points and new entities with different values which may cause problems.

If i was starting a map now (which i am ) i wouldnt place any entities into it only design layout and buildings.

Also i dont think they have increased the VIS size as its still the Q3 engine and its the engin that can only do 2,09 million.
But not 100% sure on that .

Thanks kdja!

Let´s hope that we don´t need to resubmit all the maps and all players don´t need to re-download them. Would mess up the servers.

If there aren´t any probs then I´ll shoot your birdie, ok? :-)

From my understanding.. its not a matter of re-releasing.
the maps will not work. period.
If you increase the size, then the original location of everything is incorrect.
All maps will have to be completly redone from scratch.

I am sure they will come up with some kind of fix.
I mean.. come on.. all maps?

The word is EXPANSION!
