Default HELP PC USERS!!!! - 10-13-2002, 06:30 PM

hello guyz,

i am a mac user and i have made some new skins for my clan half of my members use mac and half use PC here is my problem and i hope someone can help me resove it:

i made some skins at first and they worked fine UNTIL my clan merged with another clan that uses PCs so i designed some new skins, avatars and a compass. i zipped all these files together and sent them off to my new PC buddy! i then got an email from him and he said that when he added the pk3s i sent him he couldnt start MOHAA!!! the thing is is that i have the same pk3s installed on my mac and everythng works fine!!!

anyhow i need someone that has a PC and knows how to make skins, avatars etc to help me! could someone please let me know of their email so i can send you all these pk3s so you can tell me what the problem is please?? As i am a graphic designer all i can do i just re-design other pk3s which i donload from this site. I download the pk3s which i like open them exctract the tga files to my desktop open them in photoshop. do my business save them and then replace my files (which still have the same names as the original which are contained in the pk3) with the originals in the pk3s. I can make my own scripts because i dont know how to. I have done this many times and they work OK!!! UNTIL NOW!

my pc buddy sent me this message that he got but dont know where from:

(this is the file) Alied_CyKO+a3a_GREENTOP2.pk3

PIXELFORMAT: color(32-bits) Z(24-bit) stencil(0-bits)
MODE: 6, 1024 x 768 windowed hz:85
GAMMA: hardware w/ 0 overbright bits
CPU: AMD w/ 3DNow!
rendering primitives: single glDrawElements
texturemode: gl_linear_mipmap_linear
picmip: 0
texture bits: 32
multitexture: enabled
compiled vertex arrays: enabled
texenv add: enabled
compressed textures: enabled
Initializing Shaders
Tried to read from a zip file scripts/101_airborne.shader that was not open

this is the error message he gets:

tried to read zip file .... is not open

(.... stands for the different word for each pk3)

PLEASE IF SOMEONE IS KIND ENOUGH TO TELL ME THEIR EMAIL SO I CAN SEND HIM/HER THE ZIP FILE WITH ALL THE PK3s so they can check them out!! I NEED SOMEONE THAT MAKES THEIR OWN SKINS PLEASE!!!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

if you can help me please contact me at:

cyko@gamers-cy.com

THANX IN ADVANCE!!!

wish I could help.
I dont use Mac. Wish I did.
from looks of his error.. did you include the .shader file in the script folder?

Spiderm@n obviosly you know nothing about computers with that kind of reply.

I am hoping soon that the Mac will get more software support soon.
I want a Mac so bad, but most of the programs I use are not on the Mac
Also you have to wait a long time after its ready on the PC for its available on the Mac.

But as it looks, microsoft is joining with Mac. Dont know what will come from it. Lets all hope great things.

The 1st pak files you sent me were corrupted.

The 2nd batch 8 in total all worked perfectly.
Pak files are tricky buggers but the 2nd batch all worked perfectly.

kdja can you please tell me which batch it was exactly???

1. the first was the one with all the pk3s in one big zip.
2. each pk3 seperately sent
3. the pk3s unziped and sent to u as folders

so from my guess its the second batch is sent you.

i think because i zipped all the pk3s together that buggered them!!

so all i have to do is send the files to the PC guy seperate!!!

YIPEEEEEEEEE!!!!
