Default MOHAA - Still a Great Game - 10-17-2002, 07:39 AM

Hello,

I've playing MOH for about 6 months now & like one of Airborne Butters earlier posts I was getting a bit tired of the game.

I've tried a few others - including a demo of Black Hawk Down etc etc & I really couldn't find anything that matched. There were games with better graphics, more weapons, better gameplay but overall I felt that MHOAA ruled.

I think it is a combination of realistic graphics, great gameplay & some excellent maps on MOHAA - the expansion pack is just going to make it stronger.

I know there always a lot of critisism of MOH here but much of it is constructive - and the guys that work so hard on all the mods & maps - well, we all owe those guys a drink. I don't know what you guys think about BF1942 but for me MOHAA still rules at the moment.

I agree guys. I've got a dozen or so games that haven't been reinstalled since my OS upgrade. If I'm playing games I'm playing MOHAA. Throw TS on top of it and you've got a formidable combo. Nothing else compares right now.

Granted, I've never played CS, but I just don't understand why that game has a 16:1 ratio of players online when compared to MOHAA. Am I missing something? I don't think so. They are.

Here here! I have inumerable games, but i always seem to come back to mohaa. I've got UT2003, tribes 2, BF1942, along with an ass load of other games. 2 racks of 32 full plus the ones that are in boxes from age. Mohaa just seems to stand out for some reason... great game. Cant wait fo rthe expansion.

all the 1337 f@g><0rz are pissed because they can't cheat in MOHAA and there's no working aimbot (as far as we know), that's why they can't play MOHAA, also on realism it requires AIM, not SIDE STEPPING.

Tribes 1 still owns every game on the planet...but MOHAA is slowly creeping up to it...

though Tribes 1, I played 120 hours a month.

Default WHAT MAKES THIS GAME GREAT - 10-17-2002, 10:51 PM

I saw a post a while back very similar to this one. It talked about what makes this game what it is. Your right that other games have better bells and whistles. One guy posted the answer that i thought covered it very well. He said its the people who play this game that make it great. Being a server admin i couldnt agree more. The regulars on my server are great players and even better people. Its my pleasure to run my server for these folks. Of course theres always the exception to the rule but for the most part I find the people who play this game are a great bunch. men and women. so why do we keep commin back to moh.ITS THE PEOPLE !! I THINK THATS THE ANSWER. BUTCHER

http://www.alliedassault.com/phpBB2/vie ... highlight= check that post, I posted it a while ago, when I was really happy with it, then I posted to subject about me growing bored with it. It's just I've been playing MOHAA since day 1, and it's been fun but then it became to modded. Then there was "Shotty Newb" the one who, not matter what, always uses a shotty on any map. Then all these great TC that had soooo much potential only to be ruined by EA's greed. Just trust me on this, when you go through a whole summer of noting but MOHAA it gets a bit tiring. Spice up your world and try some Day of Defeat, BF1942, and hitman 2 (If I can get it to work!) swordfight:

Butters,

It was your post back then that got me thinking about this - I felt the same way.

But, 12 mutliplayer maps, new weapons, so many maps & mods etc etc - I think it's just going to run & run !

I do agree that the strength of game is really in the community...

The future's so bright . . .

For me it's a combination of the game itself, I dig WWII squad based ground combat; and of course the community. Even though the game has it's definite shortcomings, the Q3A engine insures that the problems are fixable. The expansion is going to kick ass, and I predict the first patch will be half fixes and half community suggested enhancements. (at least I hope so hehe)

. . . I gotta wear shades. cool:

Well i've only had the game about a week but i definitly support what your saying, MOH:AA has to be one of the best games i've played over the past couple years, the realism, gameplay, and graphics just make it an awesome experience. Can't wait till the expansion pack!
