Default What about jumping? - 11-08-2002, 09:46 AM

OK, I see daily where people complain about the leaning and running at the same time. Its always the same thing " you can't do that in real life so don't do it here" or "leaning and running is banned on this server". Fine I have no problems with that its their server and they pay for it so I agree to any rules they have while playing on their server.

My problem is why does no one ever complain about the guys that jump from high places to charge and attack you. Lets look at the bridge, how many times have you seen someone superman out of the top of the church window instead of going back down the stairs, or V2 jumping off the iron walkway out by the rocket or jumping down to the truck from the walkway above it. We all know that there are serveral other places just like that, in the TDM maps.

Most of these jumps are 40-60 feet up to scale. Why are the same ones that are complaining about the run/lean not complaining about this? Its just as unrealistic for some one to take off running after a 40-60 fall as it is to lean and run at the same time.

Umm. .. it's just a game?

If someone gets pissed about that, they don't play MOH much. They need to grow up and realize that this isn't WWII, they aren't American soldiers, and they aren't holding a real BAR.

Jumping isn't so much of a problem. You can still cook yourself pretty good if you jump from a high place.

Plus, if you don't kill yourself, you will do 5-10 points of damage.

They have special military training to survive those jumps with little or no effect. Jeez, where have you been?

Joe, thats the point I was trying to make. Just trying to get those"I hate leaning because it make it harder for me to snipe you" players to think a little.

its part of the game. You dont need a mod or adjust controls, its something everyone can do with ease. No mods needed. No unfair advantage

Do I think jumping 50 feet and only losing 20 health is a cheat/unfair? No.

Do I think jumping 50 feet and only losing 20 health is dumb as hell? Yes. Blame it on EA. For now, I'm doing my TNT jumps across the Market Garden lake in BF1942. evil: evil: evil:

Hopefully someone can fix the run and lean. I have built my whole gaming scheme around the run and lean. Now I'm just a Noob rocket whore. biggrin:

Hahahaha... actually, I don't have a problem with leaning while moving on my server, but I thought the way SH handles leaning was great. You can still lean, just have to stop to do it. Nothing wrong with that in my book. Afterall, I don't have a 5 button mouse like the rest of you, so this even's the playing field in my eyes (as far as what you can do vs what I can do). biggrin:

On another note, I agree that complaining about leaning is stupid. Sure, if you pay for a server then the rules you have there are fine and people shouldn't complain about it. But people who complain that leaning is just unfair need to hone their skills.

I will have to get use to it but I don't like it one bit. biggrin: Do you think it would be possible to make a mod that could allow lean and run?
