Well I have started working on a realism mod for Spear Head by using the wpn files provided in the demo. Yes I realize theres a realism option in the expansion. But naturally we like to make "improvements" to this game so I will venture ahead with it.
Naturally theres a road block already. I didn't use any of the origional files from my =SD= Realism mod being run on DK666's server, but I did copy over the stats to the new weapon scripts for SH. I have tried two ways of using the mod, one by creating a seperate pk3 file with the mod files and then the other by overwritting the actual pak1 files with the new data. Both ways resulted in the game failing to start. Both times Q3 boot screen stated the demo was corrupted. I was able to overwrite the altered files with the origionals and run the game again. But what it seems to see is an increased number of files.
So my question is this, does anyone know of another option to bypass this problem? And, do we know if this is just a security issue with the demo or if this will occur with the full release? oOo:

U can' t hack the demo.....Chris Sheldon is clear about this !

But in final game...it will be possible for sure....

Yea, the demo is set for its size.
If you edit in anyway it will think its corupted.

oOo: oops! oOo: I missed that part guys. sleep: Well I guess I will just work on the wpn files now and compare them to the final release files. If they are the same then I have no worries. Thanks for the quick reply guys.

I did notice that each primary wpn. provides a set number of additional pieces of equipment allowed, such as smoke and frag grenades. It also lists binoculars as part of the additional equipment. I just wonder if this option will allow you to carry spare ammo for other weapons, such as spare ammo for the side arms. One thing I wanted to be able to do for the snipers and bazooka gunners was to provide extra pistol ammo.

I know Crow King will, I based what I did in MOHAA off of his second version. I gave him credit for it too in my notes. Though I never released the mod, I provided it to my Admin, DK666, for his server. I will most likely not release this one either till I see if it works well enough. Crow King is the best when it comes to the realism mods. But unfortunately the clientel playing on DK's server kept complaining about the wpns being a bit unbalanced. Soo I made some adjustements to make people happy. But unlike some mods where all the weapons are identical, mine still has plus and minus affects to each wpn. I plan on doing the same for SH. freak:
