Curious if anyone else is experiencing a huge jump in VIS size in Radiant. My map, although large was at about 1,300,000 and after I added SH and went in to add some new 'addon' entities and textures it suddenly went to over 4,000,000! Even AFTER I deleted the new entities, the map VIS is STILL way over 4 million!

Anyone? Ideas? My only thought is to uninstall SH, reinstall AA and try to compile again........ugly process, but.......

Entities have no effect on your map VIS data size nor do detailed brushes. The only thing that adds to you VIS data size is structural brushes, sides of structural brushes that can't be seen by the player in game should have caulk on them. Because of that removing any entities will not help!

My guess is that you have to many structural brushes, only brushes that are potential visibilty blockers should be structural. Do you have any knowledge what VIS is? I have written a VIS for dummies tutorial, it might help you gain some understanding. The tutorial isn't complete yet because I'm going to add info about detailed brushes (for now all you need to know is that a detailed brush doesn't affect/add to vis).

Yeah, I know what I'm talking about. The point is that AFTER installing SH my vis counts got all wacky. The latest compile, after ADDING more structural brushes, the vis actually went down....and I deleted all the SH entities. Rungsi thought that MAYBE the SH entities somehow affected the grid sizes.........that's still open for debate. Don't know, maybe just a local anomaly.

Also, after installing SH, I can't zoom around with the camera in the editor unless I turn off all the entities...if I don't, I crash all the time. Strange.
