The game is lagged like all hell. I had a ping of 160 and it gave me a "BAD CONNECTION" message.

The textures, and the graphics are REALLY subpar. They aren't bad, but this game isn't going to be winning any awards thats for damn sure.

The game has some promise, but I don't see it becoming any kind of 'sensation'.

I do like how when you toss a nade, all sound goes out in your ears.[/list]

ed i got to disagree. i found that most of the servers lagged like hell. so then i clicked create and i made my own server...it holds 10 ppl its called Jaybirds Cong Test FF Off ....dude this game is top notch, amazing graphics that dont lag...youd think with all the trees and jungle it would hog fps...not at all...the game is simply awesome imo. just got done playing it 3 hours straight. at first i was like eh, this aint bad. play it for a while and when you got the aiming down and you memorize the map, well its so damn addicting and cool im gonna go back now for more! thanks green for this thread i had no idea about this game!!!!!!!

btw on filefront the file has risen from number 7 most popular file to number 4 in just a matter of hours heh.

Can i hurt him? Please, can i...

You dolt look at its name. Vietcong.... Humm perhaps its about WW2... oh no no no... im sorry, ww1. Oh jeez im so silly, korea.... Well wait. Cong, kinda rymes with pong, so perhaps it has something to do with a boucing ball. Now Viet, somewhat sounds like sheot, IE shit for non gangsta's. So its a crappy version of pong. HA. all you need is some brain power, and an understanding of how these gaming folks come up with these names.

Or its about the battle in Veitnam... Welcome to the board nOOb... lol... just trying to get the coals ready for your flaming, i see in the future if you ask questions like that alot. Again, welcome.

I played it. 50 ping and all yeah that lag is killer you guys wernt kidding. Overall i think its pretty fun.

The server i was on was the lead the pilot mission which sucks for the pilot but hey, take one for the team. Besides you can grab a dead guys gun. I think the final will be something to look at, the cammo is pretty good, but siloquets (sp) are still a problem even in the bushes. The gore was pretty piss poor but i had it on realistic, perhaps if i bumped it up to something higher like, " Dear god", or "fuck thats alot of blood", it would be prettier.

The weapons were pretty cool but the models still need a little work which there probably getting, the Tommy was the worst, looked like half the grip was missing. Its pretty much an MG fest since it has good stopping power. Mag size is good 18 for the M-16 which is TRUE. and 28 for the AK which probably is true to provent fowling like the 16's. The AIM feature is fucking sweet. It basically gives you a little zoom on the guns as if you were looking throught the iron sights. You slow down and there is wobbel. Prone you can shoot in, and basically everything we wanted in MOHAA but were bitched out of. Only now its in Vietnam not WW2.

There are some clipping problems, mostly with death animations. I took a head shot from an AK accross the map and my body was tossed back against the wall i was sneaking against, it was bad ass, except for the fact one of my legs was underground and my left arm and some of my head were in the wall. Oh well, who wants to watch there own death anywho.

I cant wait to see some of the bigger weapons come into teh game to see how there used. The M-60 mostly and whatever the VC used of course. Rifles are no good in close but are fairly spot on when AIM'ed. Handgernades are tricky to use at first and i saw more than a few Tk's from it. Practice with em before you go on a server. There tricky, fire and the pin is out and its not armed. Hold fire again and that determains your toss strength. You can underhand it using the secondary fire, but if there to close when they go off, you get a ringing in your ears if it doesnt kill you. The sniper rifles were a nice change, though the field of view was really small for having such a rolling landscape. The advangtage is that 1 of the 2 sniper rifles you can choose from doesnt have a "scope" id call it enhanced iron sights with good stopping power.

Speaking of stopping power. Placement is everything, the legs are no good and dont slow the guy down upper torso causes some convulstions of sort to the receipiant and as i said before, headshots seem to be a one shot deal. M-16's seem to have better killing power than the AK which seemed odd, but i assumed it was for balence so the magazine size wasnt the deciding factor. I didnt play with the m1/a2 so if you were wondering about it i dont care.

Over all if your thinking about not getting the demo, get it, more servers will come, and better pings will follow. No the net code is not all assed up like BF-1942's demo, or even Spearhead's full version. Get the demo its entertaining, and something new and shiney if nothing else.

7 - 10

Pros: Good foliage, and interesting water effect. Nice feel of not knowing where that shot came from even though you heard the zing go by your head.

Cons: Graphics arnt the next best thing. Weapon models need work.Stupid heartbeat sound when injured. No gore mode called "Fuck thats alot of blood".
