Default SH Server crashing - 12-16-2002, 10:08 PM

Having a prob.. running reatail Vs of SH. 2.11 patch + the no CD exe...Every time i try and start my own basic server inside the game.. it goes through the load screen then crashes to desktop..

I can join any sever and the game runs fine, (mods included) but crashes when i run my own..

Would any known MOHAA mod cause this?

Yep I get that all the time with Spearhead, I basically cannot create my own multiplayer game to explore the multiplayer maps.

I found the best solution to all Spearhead related bugs is to pop your disk into the microwave and cook on full power for 5 minutes. (that is a joke, dammit I know how dumb some ppl are lol)

p :)

Stoner, have you tried removing all mods/maps from both the SH and MOH directory?

I have no issue doing this, that's why. Consider reinstalling to test?

The original no-cd patch doesn't work for a 2.11 game.
It will cause the game to crash.
There is a 2.11 no_cd patch out that will fix the problem.

My no-cd patch works, I just cant host a game anymore. Its not really important as i dont have enough bandwidth to host and i have never really tried to open the proper ports on my router to make it happen, but I wanted to look at a new map and it kept kicking me out to the desktop.

Dude..The 2.11 no cd-patch works fine.. its not the game that wont run.. its hosting a game..

We had a LAN party this past weekend everyone running the SAME 2.11 patch AND 2.11 No-CD patch...3 out of 8 guys couldnt host their own games including me.. I dunno if they were running and MOHAA mods,or not..

Bazooka_Joe:

Im gonna try a fresh install when i get home from work.. hopefully should fix it on my end.. <shrug>

Thanks for the info all... biggrin:

It's usually this, or a fresh install. If they don't work, it could be drivers, or you may need to upgrade. That's how it usually works out.

Default its the patch - 12-24-2002, 05:28 AM

the reason it crashes is not the nocd but the damn new 2.11 patch E.A have released with a bug. i have the nocd and the orginal cd but everytime i try to test my map the same thing happens. i can't even open a single map now i have the 2.11 patch. what i did do was use my other hard drive and use the 2.0 sh, that works fine. end of the day it's bloody E.A releasing another patch without having it tested AGAIN....
