Default Please help! - 12-31-2002, 02:54 PM

I have a linksys 8 port router and 1 ip that i run me and my bros comp off off. We want to play in the same server but when we both try to connect it says server connection timed out or one of us gets disconnected. I am not sure if i can fix this or i have to get another brand router. If u have two comps in your house that run off the same ip and u can play in the same server please tell me your setup or if u know how to help me please do.

Thanks,

Are you using cable or DSL?
Anyway, you may have to add the network cards MAC address into
a list inside the router. Since I am not at home and can't look at mine,
I cant tell you exactly where to look. I don't run mutliple computers
playing MOH either so it may not correct your problem, but I setup one
for a co-worker with a cable modem and when one PC was online and the
other one tried to access the Internet, the other one would be knocked off.
It was corrected once I entered the MAC addresses into the list inside the router. My DSL account, however, did not require me to do this for my 2 PC's, but again, only one is every playing MOH. I believe the screen is under the advanced options, though. BTW, my equipment is the Linksys BEFSW11 or something like that...Cable/DSL router with 4 port switch and wireless access point.

Make sure your router has the latest firmware.

Then connect one at a time. This should.

Good luck

I could of swore I posted on this yesterday afternoon.

Head over to http://www.mohadmin.com and pickup DogMeat's Port guide to make sure you have the available ports opened in your router.
