Default RCON ACCESS & BANNING PLAYERS - 01-15-2003, 07:29 AM

Hi,

1.How can I permanently ban certain IP adresses from connecting to my server?

2. I need rcon access to my server. I try the following command in the server console:

seta rconpassword "whatever"

In the console of my "playing" computer i write:

rconpassword "whatever"
connect "my IP"

But it still won't work! What am I doing wrong? Do I need to make these alterations in my .cfg file? If so; where is this file? I can't seem to find it, not even in the mohaa/main/configs directory...

PS. I have MOHAA v 1.00

Try this:

In a new text file enter the following lines:

[code:7efe8]rconAddress xx.xxx.xxx.xx
rconPassword xxxxxxxx[/code:7efe8]

Save the file in your main folder as rcon.cfg

Then add the following to the properties - target line of your mohaa shortcut:

[code:7efe8]+exec rcon.cfg[/code:7efe8]

This will automatically enable your rcon when you double-click that shortcut.

Use what Bane said but make sure you put this line in your server cfg:

set rconpassword "xxxxxxxx"

You might consider adding the v1.11 patch, it might fix some problems with rcon.

Thx guys! I've installed Autokick 1.2.1 now, it seems to work ok for banning certain unwanted elements. fire2:

Easy to install, easy to use. I recommend it.
