Some people will say that a laser is not as good as a ball. The way I play, it doesn't really matter. biggrin:
I like the laser cause you don't have to use a pad. when I was using a ball and playing the game my mouse was always going off of the pad.
I don't try for head shots , I'm lucky to get a body shot. biggrin:

Ever had any problems with the cordless? I've been holding off on that because I've read where some people have had trouble with them skipping sometimes while playing, causing them to miss a shot and get killed by some one they should have had first.

well as ive got the optical, with cord ,im a little dissapointed, its not as good as a ball,i had a cordless mircosoft intelli mouse cordless and that was crap,i was reluctant to buy another optical, but thought a corded 1 was the answer,i gave my other logitech balled wheelmouse away, i wish i haddnt, ive now wasted 80quid on crappy optical mice,(never again]

nope, no skippin probs. I don't use a mat either, just a smooth desk. It is hard though to get used to the weight of it! I don't use mouseware or intellimouse. I use the nostromo n50 also. It works great!

Hope you are still watching the forum...
What version of the Intellipoint software did you use, for which "mouse product" as microsoft list it. Any thing special in the process of installing or just uninstall logitech drivers/install microsoft drivers??
I've been trying for days to get the 2 thumb buttons on my MX700 mapped to the strafe keys with no luck...

I have a cordless mousman optiacal at work. It is fine for work but probably not for games. It will not read very fast movements. I can jerk it off the matt and the pointer never moves. On the other hand, I never move the mouse like that in a game. Some of the newer cordless mice are supposed to be fine. At home I have the cheap corded optical and have neer had any issues. I hate wheels. Always getting dirty and sticking.

Well how very informative... unfortunately I HAVE used the search (hence the revival of a 2 week old post) and the posts I found are incomplete in this one aspect of the topic. While many of the posts say "use Microsoft drivers" they do not say which of the several versions to use... that is my question, which even after your contribution remains unanswered...
"What version of Microsoft's Intellimouse software was used as a substitute for the logitech MX700 drivers?"
at [url=http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse/download.asp:f4c8b] microsofts download page for intellimouse drivers[/url:f4c8b], you must "select your mouse product".
