Default Graphics Cards... - 01-20-2003, 01:06 PM

At the moment I own a Nvida Gforce2 mx/400 but my Dad, in his pc has a radeon 7500...if I were 2 swap them over I was wondering how much of a difference there would be...and how much would the radeon 7500 cost in the shops.?

I see every1 out there with good graphic cards...Any1 here play with a Gforce 2.?

Thx.

i got a Geforce2 MX400, 1GHz P3, 128mb RAM, i can max all the settings in medal of honor and the lowest FPS i have ever achieved is around 17, the highest is 99 (i dunno why but my FPS never seems to go above 99, it just flutters about in the 90's but never goes any higher) people say the GF2 MX is shit, but i think its great, the Radeon cards are more aimed towards graphics programs, Geforce are for the hardcore gamer, unless your buying the radeon 9700, now that card is a beast ed: the 7500 would probably cost you about £40/ $70 for the AGP type about £20/$30 more for PCI, oh and i use the GF2 PCI and it runs very fast.

I so agree, 15 is lowest fps only when I run into some smoke...but 100 is maximum, 30 is the usual fps 4 me tho...V2 Facility seems to give the highest fps for me. 106 is my best :P lol.

I might as well swap the card with my Dad, see how it goes anyway.
.
Thx 4 the advice.

Maggot, you would see a slight improvment, maybe about 10FPS, if you're lucky.

I have a GeForce4 MX 420, 1.2 Ghz. CPU and 640 MB RAM.

Question: How can you have 99 FPS with all settings maxed? I mean, I top like 70 FPS with 16-bit colors/textures, some things maxed, some things medium. Are you running 640*480 or something? I'm pretty sure that everything maxed on 1024*768 will not give you 99 FPS with those specs...

I am running Windows XP with recently updated drivers for my videocard.

yeh im running everything maxed at 1024x768, latest drivers for XP, 32 bit colour depth, 32 bit colour texture etc. the only thing i dont have max, is shadows i have that on simple. but i wanna know why doesnt my FPS ever go higher than 99? it always flickers around 99FPS but ive heard of people getting 250FPS how do they know this if your game FPS only stays at 99? do i need to alter anything to give it, its maximum value?
