my linux desktop -

well after dumping $29.99 on "Linux Red Hat 8.0 for dummies"(came with linux) i thought linux would be a cool thing to mess around with, since all my life i have been using windows oOo: so i partitioned my harddrive (cant....leave...windows... biggrin: ) and installed linux red hat. and so far i havent seen anything so great about it, although it comes with a bunch of cool games.
AT the moment i still like XP better..

I don't use it myself, but you should really customize it. That's what Linux is good for (among other things).

Linux is a great OS. I used it with a friends PC for a summer, and it was fanstastic. Although, I am a Windows man, I could defineatly get used to Linux, very stable, and potentially easy to use OS.

the server side is great. Can do everything a Windows server can plus more. Maybe the aa.com php database should be put onto Linux. It prolly wouldnt go down as much.

there is an os called lindows that allows you to do this. you can probably find it somewhere if you look hard enough ed: . you can run both linux and windows os programs.

Yeah the OS is a few months old; a hybrid of Linux & Windows; Has the Linux look & feel, while the compatibility to open Windows PC proggies and apps. Never used it, but was sopposed to be promising.
