voice command key binds -
03-12-2003, 06:28 AM
bigzooka:
how the f**k can i assign voice commands to a single key?
i don't mean the default multiplayer voice commands, i mean from the single player game, it shouldn't be too difficult but for the life of me i can't think of the command to put in console.

In the MoHAA main menu, go to the options menu. Go to advanced options. Cross 'console' (upper right).
You can now open the console from anywhere in the game by pressing the tilde (~) key.
Binding keys to voice taunts goes like this: In the console, type:
bind x "say *np"
This will bind key x to voice command np, n and p being integers, corresponding to the taunt menu structure.
Example: pressing v, 1, 3 in the game = Yes, Sir! You want to bind this taunt to the 'q' key.
In the console, type:
bind q "say *13"
Remember, non-character keys like backspace should be typed in capitals: BACKSPACE, HOME, UPARROW, etc.
You could also have searched this forum, it's not hard to find. But I have a day off, and have nothing better to do, today...

it seems I only read the title of your post. Should have read the contents more carefully.
I don't know how to do that. If it is possible.
Maybe [url=http://www.alliedassault.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=373072&highlight=bind+taunts#37307 2:340f9]this[/url:340f9] helps you on your way...

I doubt its possible unless you modded your MOHAA, otherwise you would be hearing SP taunts by now oOo:

I think this also applies to you, Joe? Because this is not the answer to his question. Slam wants to use singleplayer 'taunts' in multiplayer.

not necesaaraily taunts, i mean commands
ie.
when people speak in single player game
eg.
"AMBUSH"
"POWELL, TAKE OUT THAT SENTRY"
"POWELL, CHECK THE DOOR"
"STICK CLOSE LEUTENANT, AND I SHOW YOU HOW TO AVOID DETECTION"
ALL SPEECH FILES FROM THE SINGLE PLAYER GAME.
ITS GOT TO BE POSSIBLE TO SET A KEY TO PLAY THESE SOUNDS IN CONSOLE.
its a simple case of telling the computer to play a certain sound file already in the /main file
......
not that simple oOo:
anyway, i really want this angel:

Try this. Got to your \main\sound\Multiplyer\a\ (allies sound) directory and find a voice command you do not use in multiplayer, i.e. AMdfr_c_05j ("You take lead"). Also have \main\sound\dialog\m1|1\a\ open in a different window. Copy dfr_m1|1_add07h3 over to \main\sound\Multiplyer\a\, delete AMdfr_c_05j, then simply rename dfr_m1|1_add07h3 to AMdfr_c_05j. Now, I have not tested this, but by all means it should work wonders for any voice dialog you wish.
