Ever hear of this guy? He was a former punk-metal rocker, but he's doing spoken word now, and it's fucking hilarious. I recommend DLing a few bits from the Think Tank album. He's like the George Carlin of gen-X.

The show last night was AWESOME!
Hank Rollins is the funniest dude alive! He spoke for 3 hours straight and the time flew by like it was 20 minutes. He's friggin' brilliant.

Yeah, you got me interested in him. Stand-up is sorta like a hobby of mine.

Btw, Rollins Band kick ass too! They're still together and have released a coupel of recordas in the past few years. Pick up "Get Some Go Again" if you like really muscular, loud, and pumping hard rock. Excellent record.

Yeah, he's built, but he's surprisingly short! heh heh
I was expecting this HUGE wrestler-type dude, but he walked out in a black t-shirt and black jeans, greying hair, and a bottle of water. He's ultra-cool.
Man, there were some freaky peeps in the audience, lemme tell ya! There was one guy there who looked like he set off a cherry bomb in his hair and then hairsprayed it. I woulda kicked his ass if he sat in front of me...3ft high hair! FREAK!

Simo, look for "Airport Hell", "Nothing Can Go Wrong", "Brazil", and "Marius".
That's Hank Rollins at his best.

Yep, he was in Black Flag back in the day.
His spoken word isn't really stand-up comedy in the traditional sense. It's not setup/punchline.
He's very observational and anecdotal in his spoken word tours. He tells a lot of stories from the road and stuff. He gets into some deep shit sometimes, but quickly lightens it up so he doesn't bum you out.
I definitely recommend checking it out if he comes into town.

He should stick to stand up if he is funny. because he cant sing worth a shit.
in fact he has to be one of the worst singers i ever heard. i have a led zeppelin tribute with him on it he should be shot it is so bad. hopefully in black flag he sounded better but i doubt he could.

He's more of a shouter than a singer. That's his gig.
He never claimed to be Placido Domingo.
