Default THE BREN GUN! - 03-20-2003, 07:08 PM

I didnt want to see the Bren post get buried, and there were a lot of people that want this mod so im posting it again.

http://www.6th-airborne.org/index.html

Click on "Gear" and then scroll down and click on "Bren Light Machine Gun"

There are a lot of pictures of the UK Bren gun there, and a lot of useful information about it. An experienced modder or skinner could easily do this and would make a lot of people happy. We want someone to replace the BAR with the Bren Light MG for the British weapons in Spearhead. Please atleast try it.

If you want to go the extra mile, scroll to the bottom of "Gear" and click on "PIAT (Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank)". It is a British equivalent to the BAZOOKA. There are also several pictures of it and info if you are going to try it.

These mods would give the game more diversity and make it more fun to be a British soldier... I would really appreciate it if someone gave it a whirl.

It's not as easy as you might think. To make it look authentic, you'd need to change the skelmodel of the BAR to make the ammo ontop.

My suggestion would be to ask the talented chaps at [url:4829d]http://www.modtheater.com[/url:4829d]about it

I went to modtheater.com and emailed the mod guy. Hopefully he can work with the skinning guy WolfMan to make us a Bren. Cross your fingers.

You dont need the bipid for the bren gun... it is just an accessory for it. It usually has a shoulder strap and the soldier can move around with it and shoot.

ohhhh cuz the only way to shoot the bren gun in hidden and dangerous was to lie on the ground and fire it with the bipod. I was just going by that

hi there

As someone who has carried and trained on a Drill Practice Bren gun i would have to say that its quite awkward to carry as its a heavy weapon therefore i think in real battle the Bren would have been mainly used with the Bipod in Battle..i dont think that it was regularly 'fired from the hip' due to its weight...

it shows a black and white of a guy holding it as we walks, it might not be 100% realistic but its better than the old boring BAR for all the allies.

the gun is not a skin, its a whole new model.
creating the model is hard enough, exporting it to the game will require 3 new .tik files for the gun and new animations for it. and it needs to be added to your weapons hud, which also needs new files. you may find that your gun looks different from angles and it dosent quite fit in the guys hand. all of these problems are difficult to do without an sdk, which ea is choosing to let the mohaa community to die hake:

It's like aa.com with more gay jokes.
