Default My Run-In With the Law..lol - 03-23-2003, 01:41 PM

Well last night 4 friends and I went to a concert in Ventura, CA. On our way back, the 126 ( the highway to Ventura ) comes to a town called Phillmore, which is very short and the speedlimit drops to about 40. At the second stoplight in town I notice a cop behing me with lights on, so I pull over to the first street and stop. He asks me for all my stuff, and notices that I am still 17 and haven't finished my restricted period of driving ( Can't drive past 12am ). He tells me that I was going 70 in a 45, but I probably was so I didn't argue at all. He asked if there was anyone else in the car who was 18 years old, and when my friend in the passenger seat said yeah he asked us to get out of the car. He looked at his license, and told us that he would have to drive my parents car the rest of the way home, and the if my friend let me drive at all he could be thrown in jail. He ended up letting us go, and I didn't get a curfew ticket or a speeding ticket, which was lucky as hell because that fast I think I lose my license ed: . Just thought I would share. biggrin:

Ja. yah I dont agree with that thing the cops do. WHere they throw someone in jail for not even knowing the person is 17. Or drunk mind you. My funniest story with the police is when I was chased by one with my pants around my ankles. Remind me to tell you sometime.

People always speed out of the parking lot at my school, it's a really closed in area when the students are allowed to park and they like go 60, and people walk past there. One day someone is gonna get hit.

Congrats on beating the ticket. It probably helped that you were polite to the Officer.

Yeh exactly, I knew there was no point in arguing cuz I was obviously guilty, so I just did what he asked. But yeah, very lucky. hehe

I'm pretty surprised he didn't take your license. I know 126, I live 5 miles from Six Flags, and that is a two lane, narrow highway, with lots of opportunities for fools to get killed. Something else that may have contributed to to your getaway...there was a gang killing in Fillmore last night. Maybe he thought you were the getaway vehicle at first, then let you go because he had other things to do. Fillmore is little podunk agriculture town, not much happening AT ALL.
