Default Major problems installing MOHAA, please help!!! - 06-07-2003, 10:09 PM

I was installing MOHAA on my new PC and something happened completely independent of the istallation that caused Windows XP to crash. I started up Windows and when I tried reinstalling the game, a screen popped up with three options, none of which helped me. The three options were "Modify", "Repair", and "Remove". I tried repairing the installation and nothing happened. Next I tried modifying the installation and chose to install everything on the list. Everything installed fine but I couldn't load into MOHAA so I proceeded to uninstall it. After I did that I tried reinstalling it but it still gave me the same screen I got before as if it was still installed on my computer. The last attempt I made was to delete the system registry information for MOHAA to force the PC to think it wasn't installed anymore. As you might have allready guessed, that didn't work either. Has anyone here experienced the same problem? And if so how do I fix it?

I've been meaning to get my tutorial back up on this, but I just haven't had much time.

1) Uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs menu, if possible.
2) Reboot
3) Delete the entire MOH directory manually (Usually C:\Program Files\EA Games\Allied Assault\) If there's nothing else in the EA Games folder, delete that as well.
4) goto http://www.jv16.org and download the RegCleaner
5) Run the regcleaner, and choose Tools>Registry Clean>Do Them All
6) Once it has deleted any bad keys (or, after its done, you delete them), reboot
7) Reinstall MOH (DO NOT BOOT THE GAME BACK UP UNTIL THE FINAL STEPS)
8) Install the V1.11 patch.
9) Run the config.exe file in the MOH directory
10) Run the game.

I tried what you said but it didn't work. When I restarted Windows and tried to install it again all I got was the same 3 option screen.

Then something was not done right. Either you didn't delete the MOH directory, or you didn't clean the entire registry.
