Default Wake on LAN program - 09-16-2003, 09:57 AM

Hey does anyone know of a Free WOL program that will let me wake up multiple computers. The computers are using DHCP so the IP address isn't gong to be the same all the time. Also, I have roughly 2500 computers on my network and I don't want to write down the MAC addresses of all these NIC Cards. I need a program that'll grab the NETBIOS name and associate the MAC address with it, so I can use WOL.

When you say a managed NIC, do you mean a static IP address? We have a program here that you can take control of the remote computer and we don't use static IP addresses. I think it bind the Netbios name with the MAC address. The only problem with that program is, it's too damn expensive. I think it was like 20k for 2000 computers.

So to sum it up, the computers shouldn't need a managed NIC card.
