Dog of the year - Halo pc -
10-02-2003, 01:47 PM
WTF - talk about crap. Gear box is trying real hard to steal the title of biggest POS ever released from spearhead.
They took a two year old game and made the graphics worse on pc than they were on xbox two years ago, made the fps unplayable on even top of the line machines if the setting werent turned down significantly and the net code is so bad, the multiplayer is unplayable.
And yet, you will still find people defending this game. Every review I have seen rags onthe game, then gives it a great score, but just about everyone I have seen that has purchased it, screams about how bad it is.
They can delay hl2 again if it keeps crap like this off the market.

ITS HALO OF COURSE ITS GAME OF THE YEAR!! OMG!11 HAX!!! HALO R0X0RZ.
Ahem. Uninstalled this piece of shit as soon as I got through my 10th checkpoint/save on the first 10 minutes of the game. Sorry, but there are TONS of better FPS's on PC than this. Theres NOTHING innovative about HALO, I dont care how many fucking reviewers want you to think there is.

HALO 2 is doa and will sell a million because of hype and not true innovative gameplay. U gotta hand it to Valve, theyre actually going out of their way to add to the scene, the community. Their Source Engine is going to be ripped and gutted, and explored and turned into so many things, and god bless them for that.
(pisses on HALO and waits for Counter Strike 2)

I never understood all the furor over Halo. Sure it's a nice looking game(by the standards of when it came out)but it just looked like a run o' the mill FPS to me. I never saw why people were hailing this as the messiah of videogames. I still was not pumped when I learned it hit stores for PC. Now, HALO 2 looks interesting.

It's the shear fact of it being ground-breaking in the multi-player gaming. Never before on a console could you have an 8 on 8 game, on which I have had on numerous occasions. That is what was so earth-shattering. You have to remember there was no such thing as system link before xbox.

Honestly, I dunno what the big hype was when it came out on Xbox, I didn't enjoy it that much, really. The weapons and vehicles were cool and all, but UT2003 had the same premise - run, shoot, die, shoot more, respawn, shoot again. It was fun, but not a game I could play alot say as BF1942 or MOH.

apparently the console industry had a little "request" to make Halo PC shit to "prove" that consoles run games "better"

I just got my XBOX the other day, taking advantage of that bundle their offering with the 2 games and 2 months free of XBOX live, one of my classmates, was like "Cool, you have to play HALO" so he let me borrow it. I played it for about 2o minutes then took it out. Never thought of it again. What's funny is that Bungie was developing HALO for the PC in the first place, then Microsoft bought them and made it an XBOX launch exclusive. My friend however still plays it on XBOX live and swears by it.

I can't believe people hate Halo, I've never heard of anyone not liking Halo in the first place. As I've said before, XBOX revolutionized multiplayer with the system link. The single player was cool, but nothing to brag about, but the multiplayer, 8 on 8; 1. The games last for hours,(with capture the flag) 2. It's funny when you hear the other team swearing their brains out, and the occasional coming over and beating the shit out of you. I've had about 30 xbox parties(I know I sound like a fucking loser) since I've had an XBOX, and I must say, they were the funnest parts of my life. Well, that's not saying much for my life, but they were awesome.

I would have to disagree. PS1 had a link cable. Jet MOto 2 and 3 supported it. So did red alert retaliation.
