'sup with Omaha Beach - HELP!

Man, what is up with this Omaha Beach mission?!! You get off the boat and are immediatly shot to pieces. You ain't got a chance in hell 'cause they got super machine guns on the facing hill that are like, non-stop pounding you and all your buddies. You try to hide behind some of them wooden things all over the beach and your buddies block you in trying to get some cover.

I waited behind on of them for the shooting to stop and it is like just not happening man. Has anyone gotten past this rotten mission and how did you do it?

P.S. Thanks to those that responded for help request on the "blow the sub" mission. I just kept going and shot the hell outta everyone. So much for the disguise.

As soon as you get off the landing craft make a bee-line for the nearest cover. You should notice the machine guns will stop briefly, then, run for the next safe spot. As soon as you're able to crouch, make sure you do so. Just keep going from cover to cover, and make sure you get a health kit from the medic on the beach to your left, and later at the shingle.

...k, got to the shingle and the captain says to stick to the trenches and get up the hill somehow. I got the sniper rifle but shooting them bastards on the hill doesn't help as there are more of them then there is ammo for the rifle. Tried to wiggle through the minefield but no dice, get blown up every time. Did you make it up the hill and how did you do it?

To the left of the narrow minefield is a small piece of land with no mines in it. Go there.

shoot each gunner once, move, shoot each gunner once, move, wash rinse repeat untill youre in the trench.

I didn't even bother shooting the MGers - I just ran into each crater and into the trenches. The rest of the mission is easy.
