Would j00 do my job? -
12-06-2003, 12:46 AM
It's 5am in blighty and I'm just going to work (6am start), I'm a full time student 2nd year History Degree, but I have a part time job as a cleaner/maintenance guy. The job consists of going around at 6am and doing a litter pick of the outside of this retail store. Then I have to push some skips about 500 yards and empty em into a crusher machine.
But the reason I'm still doing this job is, that's all I have to do until 1pm, and I get paid about $7 an hour for it, which sux but... Then at 1pm it gets worse kus I have to push about 4 rubbish skips past the general public and I look like some kinda tramp. There's usually a lot of hot chiX0rZ & people my own age and it's not smooth to be doing such manual labour within the sight of such peoples.
Neway, the other reason I'm still here is bkus that's all I have to do until 4pm. Then I get to go, a 10 hour shift with some sucky parts, but I get a lot of free time in which I could study or either fall asleep, both of which I have done. I also get to drive a sweeper machine thing which is kinda kool kus it's like a go-cart.
Neway, my only other option at this time would be to work in a shop, but it would be boring as sh&t standing there doing nothing all day and I could kiss all my free time goodbye. But I could get sum more respect kus I would be wearing a spappy suit etc.
Would/Has anyone else ever done a job like this before? & should I stick with it until I finish University? imwithstupid:

I use to maintenance work and whatnot.. I steam cleaned office buildings, wax and strip floors, sweep. clean windows, paint and other crummy shit.. it wasnt a legit job.. all I really did was help my dads freind on weekends and he just paid me "under the table" type of thing.... but it really sucked.. cuz I always had to work on the weekends and in the mornings.. and I was tired as fuck.. but I got paid $8 an hour.. i did this for about a year.. then I found another job.. so I guess it's kinda similar to what you did. And as for the respect part.. I didnt worry too much.. work is work and somebodies gotta do the dirty work.

dude. First off you arent going to score chicks by saying chiX0rZ. Second you have all that free time. Use it. Study, o change then go hang out and get a date or something. You get paid 7 and hour and do a 10 hours shit which I take is actually only liek 3 ours max of work. Wtf is wrong with that to get through college? I mean you COULD go get a "better" job but you would do actual work and shit.

Exactly, but it still sucks to push a rubbish skip past large groups of people my own age in broad daylight at 12.30 on a Saturday. oOo:

i've never met an athiest who wouldn't make it 100% that he was... although i suppose if the atheist didn't want people to know and then i could have met him and he wouldn't let me and so i wouldn't know and thus i have no point....... except all the people who i know are atheist, they never let anyone forget.
