when i was lookin in my history book (in the ww2 section) when it listed the axis nations and allied nations and what puzzled me was that finland was on the axis nations list not neutral,y is that? i think its because russia attacked them making them an axis country, but they never ever helped germany italy or japan besides killin russians biggrin: ,but is that y they were considered axis?
AFAIK Finland continued with small-scale attacks while the brunt of teh Soviet Army was fighting the krauts, thus they were effectively allied by common enemy with Germany.
The Fins were labeled to be on the axis side because they helped the Germans when they invaded the USSR. I think to make Stalin happy, the allies had to punish Finland in the end so they can get some cooperation from the Soviets during the war. It's one of the many ironies of WW2, like Poland not being free after WW2 even though its invasion started the war.
