Irish are renound for their drinking, why? Because so many popular drinks are made here such as bushmills and guinness. So that autmatically labels us as bring a nation of mad drinkers. Anyone with half a clue knows that the english and scottish are by far well known for drinking a lot more than us. There is underage drinking yes but you could probably go to any country in the world and find thats a fact along with underage smoking.

As for the stats sleeping: theres a statistic for everything these days, more often than not made up on the spot.

And how many irish do you know? You probably know people of irish descent but i very much doubt theres many people that you personally know that lived in ireland for a lot of years before emigrating.

I never understood the problem with a bit of sterotyping, if some of it wasn't true then the sterotype wouldn't exist.
