Crosshair making from scratch (PSP 8) tutorial

This is intended as a tut for new modders to make xhairs from scratch.
It is by no means covering all possible ways just how I do it.

I apologize for the image size but the detail is lost if i resize em.

For this you will need the following:

Paintshop Pro 8:
http://www.jasc.com

Winzip:
http://www.winzip.com

A lot of patience lol

I am doing this tut under PSP 8 because thats the latest version. (You may use any image editor you want but you need to know how to do alpha channels in it)

Ok lets get started :
Open PSP and make a new image 16x16 pixels (the xhair image size) and select the background as transparent.

Heres the fun part draw your xhair make sure that u at least put a dot in the centre of the image cos thats where the bullets aim for lol.

Next go to the menu at the top and select layers>new mask layer>from image>source opacity.

Then goto view mask in the same layers menu.
this will make it go red (hmmm funky!!)

Then go to layers menu a final time and select load/save mask and select save to alpha channel click on the save button and we are nearly there.

Now make a folder called textures and in it another folder called hud (no caps)

now goto psp again and save your image as crosshair.tga in the hud folder.

Whoo hoo are we having fun yet? Final step time
right click on your textures folder and select add to zip

at the end name it to what u want (usual modding practice is add a couple of zz's cos mohaa acts up if not sometimes.
and instead of .zip call it .pk3
So for example zzzzmyxhair.pk3

Et voila all done stick it in your mainta folder and enjoy your new xhair.
