Computer Help... -
08-28-2004, 12:01 PM
hey guys, help me out if you can...
one of our PC's at work is fucked-up with About:Home, and HomeSearch and other spyware, it hijacks the homepage and won't accept addresses properly...
I have tried adAware, Spybot, norton, etc... but it still wont work... I've never seen a system so messed before...
any ideas? should i use a registry tool?... or something else?...
Thanks for any help...

Reformat. Since it's a work computer they are probaly just images of another computer. Just get IT to re-image it.

Also, have you downloaded the latest Ad-Aware? They released a new version of the program recently.

Screw being careful. Just take everything out, with HijackThis. Its the best program out there for this kinda thing.
You cant fudge up your internet with HijackThis. Those are all added or modified files. So, all the original files wont be messed with.
