Default WINDOWS ACTIVATION???WTF! - 10-07-2004, 10:31 PM

Ok this is bull shit, I took this windows xp disc from a gateway computer of mine and it has no cd key on it and all of a sudden it says activate windows..."Note,it says this before but now I cant even log on!" What the hell do I do? Now I cant even find the fucking thing to reformat and wait more days for it to say the same thing...so what do i do?

Also note"I cant go around it...its before i get to log fully in....and if i click off of it it logs me off..."

If you do a system restore to the previous day it will go away.

It worked for me and my friend's computer that used the same key.

I installed XP from my laptop (HP) to my desktop... it worked. I'm gonna put it on my other desktop in a few days. I HAVE the key though...

If you reformatted, that may be your problem right there. You should check out the October issue of "Maximum PC", they talk about that very same problem you're having.
