That's a good theory, but what actually happens is you go to pay using PayPal, get sent to the PayPal Web site to conduct the transaction, then return to the Hurricane Gaming site and Voila, no guide! No password, no e-mail giving you directions on how to download - nothing.

Apparently I am not the only one who has been ripped off by Hurricane Gaming. I strongly suggest people interested in buying a guide stick with the reputable guide publishers like Prima or Brady. You could say the HG guides are only $2, but I bought the guide from them, PayPal paid them, and now several days later not only do I still not have my guide, but 5 e-mails, one long distance call, and I haven't even gotten a reply from them.

Either they are continually and knowingly ripping people off, or they are running a shoddy business. In either case, why waste your money?

I have the same problem. Spent $2.00 and no strategy guide? Maybe the game guide is not finished or if it was they might have taken it off because of mistakes. But they should e-mail those of us about such problems. Only aternative at this time is to contact the credit card company and place a hold on the $2.00.

according to another post i read you can pay your $2 and download it in a pdf format havent checked it out but this is what they say

Hi, this is Doug from Hurricane Gaming and I am dropping a line to apologize to those who purchased the guide the past few days. Apparently there was an extra "http" entered into a redirect link on the Paypal site that was keeping you all from being shown the download site.
I always return my emails and calls very quickly, but was in Death Valley Wed through Mon on vacation and, well, that's a hard place to troubleshoot from. Again, please accept our apologies and know that this is not a "rip-off" that we've done this many tims before and have always acted quickly to help out anyone having trouble with a download. Unfortunately, in this case, I was out of town and couldn't act as quickly.

I hope you all reconsider, Michael did a great job with the guide and it is helpful.

Thanks for your reply, Doug. I got my guide yesterday and it IS useful. While I understand your predicament, and additonally I understand the need for vacations, I would have been satisfied with even an auto-response stating that you would be out until Monday and would catch up with customers upon your return. What concerned my was the total LACK of response.

In these days of "rampant" online fraud, people get very upset by unresponsive vendors, but are pretty understanding when they are at least being kept informed.

Thanks again for the public apology, and thanks for publishing a useful product.
