I was just wondering if there is truly a comparison between WW1 and the situations within the last week. Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated in Serbia. Because of this everyone, formed alliances and put up trenches. Now fast forward. Lebanon PM killed in Beirut (a puppet Gvt. of Syria). Lebanon is pissed. Syria and Iran form an alliance. Also, Russsia says they are going to sell "Advanced Missles" to Syria. Any comparison? What about North Korea?
I suppose there are comparisons, but wasn't he a past PM, not the current one?
There's no stake in Lebanon either. Maybe the US would want to go bomb Iran, but I don't think the could fight there. People don't like war casualties. There are no more "good fights".
the only stake in Lebanon is the fact that they have Syrian troops occupying them. If Syria and Iran are together, and Bush said today that Iran terrorist cells are the ones to be carefull of, it seems that he will try and sell a war to the public to expulse the Syrian Army. What about the missles?
