Hopefully no more trailers, i always end up watching them and more often than not they show off the good parts of the movie. The good thing is so far they havn't shown the alien ships etc, be interestng to see how they've redesigned them, with a bit of luck they resemble the older ones to some degree.

I'm trying not to be spoiled either, but apparently Spielberg is not including ships in this version due to the fact that the original story did not have space ships, they had the gigantic mechanized walkers.

You should be able to catch a glimpse of one really quickly if you freeze the teaser when the people are on the ferry. This doesn't mean there won't be ships but it is not likely.

Umm...The original was actually a novel written by H.G Wells. It wasn't a "haloween joke/ story." rolleyes:

You're talking about the time that Orson Welles read it over the radio and people in like one city (Newark, I think) believed it was a true news report....I don't think anyone killed themselves over it though.... oOo:

I do believe the original War of the Worlds did take place in London though.

And yes, Tripper is correct. People actually got out their guns and went hunting for Martians when HG Wells did his version on the radio. Don't think anyone died.
