I'm going for my restricted firearm license soon and wanted to know what kind
of handguns or rifles you have experience with. What kind was it and how would
you rate it ? Any recommended pistols or calibers ?

Only firearms I've used so far is .22 rifle, BB-gun, hunting rifle (6,5 mm) and the AK5 (Assaultrifle 5; 5,56 mm NATO) and soon Glock 17 or 19, depending on which one they'll let us use. Thats my 2 cents.

For handgun .40 caliber is hot. I own many glock .40's. For rifle it depends. If you get a AR-15 1000 rounds is about $100/$120.

I was mainly looking at two Norinco models: the 1911 Commander and Sig P228
models. http://www.marstar.ca/Norinco/pistols.htm

The few reviews I've seen praise the build quality and price so I suppose it's a cheap
way to start at the range.
