just take your old harddrive, set it to slave on the jumpers and put it in your new computer.

Are you simply trying to transfer data, or applications?
If it is only data, then yeah, install your HD as slave in your new machine. There should be a little diagram to show you how to set the jumpers on the drive.

if its just files, burn them onto a cd or drop them onto a memory stick of some sort and put them on your new pc. you have to reinstall new software. using firewire or a USB cable would require you to set up a network between your two pcs. i dont know how to do that at this moment, consult your nearest google.

yeah, with me, I had over 30 gigs of music. I had a desktop and tried to transfer it to my new laptop. I had to get a firewire cable to do it. It was alot easier than actually burning a bunch of DVD-R's and stuff.
