hello. well, not too long ago the onboard card on this pc sucked. it wouldn't run alot of games so i bought an nvidia geforce fx 5200. which has worked very well with most of the newer games out there. problem is, i'm looking to start playing MOHAA mp demo again cuz apparently, not everyone of my older friends don't have full and they're saying how the demo servers now not only have full version maps but alot better security, which i wanted to check out.

anyhoo, whenever i launch the shortcut to the demo, it just crashes, immediately. the video drivers are fully updated, so is directx. the specs on this pc are: 512ram, 160gig HD, 3.0ghz cpu, and xp home sp2. i tried adding a new profile to the nvidia display thing where i saw all other profile to be added and modified. i made a new profile, directed it to the demo's .exe file, etc, but the game still crashes. someone mentioned to me before that i need to direct the mohaa.exe to the demo's .exe, but it won't let me do that. any suggestions would be very helpful, thank you.

p.s. leave your comments about me and the demo out of this thread please. i'm just looking for some help, not silly comments.

ok, i have demo working, but now when i join a server i see this wierd distorted stuff, sorta brownish black triangles in random places. i can't play like this lol. any solutions other than updating the video card drivers? (which is nvidia geforce fx5200)

dont play demo. just burn them a copy of your game ffs. you can play with the same cd key.

thank you all for the help. the problem is now fixed. i installed this: 53.03_winxp2k_international_whql that right thurr get rid of the random textures

i'm so gonna back taht file up lol

your friends dont have full versions of a 5 year old game that is like 4.99 so you play the demo oOo:

well, i don't really HAVE to. but yeah, they all don't have full version for some reason. which is annoying especially since i had to install older drivers just to play demo and now i dunno if the newer games will be affected. so i'm just gonna get them to buy full or download or whatever. rolleyes:
