I doubt it's the best rivalry in sports...since no one should give a shit about Michigan because Blue sucks.

You'd know that you'd believe that a sport that doens't welcome any teams besides American college teams would be your choice for best rivalry.

Id say Yankees-Red Sox is the longest and has the most hatred.

I always suspected it but now you have confirmed it, your an idiot. Why would the NCAA want other teams? I suppose you want CFL teams in there? It would still be a blowout! I can count on you to try to ruin every thread that is posted. If your not bad mouthing the US veterans you are shitting on President Bush, get a life

Here we go again.

I don't care for either team, but I watch Michigan vs. OSU every year.

BTW, MD vs. Duke in hoops. rock: Recently, anyway.

I just don't think Michigan+Best should ever go in the same sentence.

I don't see how ONE game a year can make you be considered for best rivalry.

Im not saying NCAA should have canadian teams, im saying the best rivalry can't possibly be in a league like that.

Argos-Ticats has just as much hate btw. Same with the Eskimos-Stamps.

.
the last time Ill quote you:

The U-M football team won the first Rose Bowl game in 1902, and has won an NCAA-record 842 games through the 2004 season. The football team is the NCAA's all-time winningest program—in both total wins and winning percentage. The program is a model of consistency, because it is one of only two teams to have been ranked in the final "Top 25" poll every year since 1989.[14] Since that time, the Wolverines have won outright or shared seven Big Ten titles and won a national championship. U-M football has won eleven national championships overall, the most recent in 1997,[15] and has produced three Heisman trophy winners.[16]Michigan is the first, and to date the only, school to produce a primarily defensive player who won the Heisman trophy,(Charles Woodson).

Michigan Stadium ("The Big House"), is the largest football-only stadium in the world, with a capacity of 107,501 and attendance typically exceeding 110,000. The NCAA's record-breaking attendance has become commonplace at Michigan Stadium, especially since the arrival of Bo Schembechler in 1969. U-M has fierce rivalries with many teams, including Michigan State and Notre Dame. However, its football rivalry with Ohio State University is widely considered to be the fiercest in all of college athletics, and has been referred to as the greatest rivalry of all time by ESPN.[17]

Couldn't possibly be. The Canadians are not a part of that one.

I've always wondered about that. How can a rivalry be between two schools that aren't even in the same state be as intense as Alabama-Auburn? Heck, we gotta live with those people every day of the year! Coaches that came to Alabama from outside of the program, like Bill Curry and Dennis Francioni, all say that they have never experienced anything like it in their career.

(and as far as "best" is concerned, come talk to me after you've won 12 National Championships!) biggrin:

What makes the UM - OSU rivalry so great is that, with few exceptions, the game has Big10 and bowl game implications every year. Either Ohio State or UMich are at or near the top of the Big10 every year and this game usually seals the fate of one or the other, which in turn has an effect on the Rose Bowl and other BCS games.

So yes, it's one of the greatest rivalries in sports. If two teams hate each other, but their games are completely inconsequential every year, the quality of the rivalry suffers because not very much attention is given to the game.

truthfully, i dont think anyone cares to know what a kid from Canada thinks about American sports rivalries, period.

The big house is an amazing place to see a game, 110 thousand ppl...quite a site. Although i am a die hard Illini fan, we havent been competitive in football for quite some time. I definately hate ohio state the most though.

OH HOW I HATE, OHIO STATE!
