Basicly this article says these five professions are the least desirable for the future. I'd just like to point out why.

Libraian - 39,000 - 47,000
Long haul trucker - 33,870
Machinist - 22,500 - 34,000

The hard work and long hours offered by driving and machineing get paid worse than a fucking book sorting librarian. Jesus fucking christ, im in the wrong line of work. I wont even make 42,000 when im a fully paid construction worker 2 years from now. Why the fuck is the hardest work the lowest paying? No wonder no one wants to do it. What training is required to be a librarian? Dewey decimal 101, and 102? Give me a god damn break.

Lack of RNs and pharmasist is easy, it cost a fuck ton to go to shcool for them, and you misewell just be a damn doctor.

no way, theres a show on the either the hitler channel or discovery channel has a show about the worst jobs. there are people out there who have to work in shit all day long, literally. they breathe fumes and have to scrub the smell out of themselves. there are a couple, but that job stuck with me. cleaning sewers, fuck that.

Yeah discovery. These arnt the "worst" jobs, there just areas that are not getting people joing them, though the demand is increasing. That or the people currently working in those fields are all leaving/retiring.

The positions arent desireable because theres very little social stratification assigned to the positions themselves, and what kind of mobility do they offer? Not a whole lot sadly - since they are positions that grease the wheels of society - so to speak.

Positions where people can control who has access to what (doctors, lawyers, politicians) - these are high strat jobs because even though you may have the technical skills to do it - someone still has to say "you cut the mustard".

As a librarian wouldn't there be a "ladder" to climb, so to speak? The central city library in Auckland is absolutely huge, I'm sure you guys have huge libraries in your cities too - I would be proud of my job If were the head librarian of that place....

This is why I don't care about all these people who bomb classes to be "cool" or drop out of school. The world needs its ditch diggers and floor sweepers. If you want to go somewhere in life your going to need to go to school for something. 25 years ago someone could work in grocery or a factory and make a good living but not anymore with the low wages offered overseas.
