I'm having a problem hosting MOH through a linksys router. Now before you tell me it can't be done, it can. A buddy of mine is hosting MOH and has a seperate FTP server all through a linksys router. We are both running WinXP (WinXP firewall disabled) and have the latest 1.1v of MOH. Our router settings are the same so i'm at a bit of a loss.
The problem i'm having is that i'm seen on the net and people join my server but get disconnected after a few minutes of game time. Some get booted within seconds while others last up to 5 minutes before the boot. Here's part of an error message someone got in their console:

[Warning: could'nt find view model animation unarmed_putaway
CL Shutdown...

(..then a series of shutdowns..)

MSG_ReadDeltaEntity: unrecognized entity field type 1778 for 203]

TIA for the help.

the only thing you would have to do with the router to host games is make the server have the DMZhost IP. (shows the server to the outside rather than the router) Since it seems that has already been done since people can join, then It has to do with something else, most likely a reinstall.

This has nothing to do with your router. If it lets people join and they can see your server it is out of the picture. It is a problem with your game. Re-install is the first option but be sure to remove the install you have now. That should fix the corrupt files and errors you are having.

ok, 1st off, thanks for the replies. Before i go ahead and re-install MOH, i'm gonna set the game up on the other computer on my network (new install) and see if that works. If it works, then i know it's either a setting in WinXP (other box has Win98) i'm missing or the game itself. I'll post back when i find out which one it is.

Well, i'm still having problems even after installing MOH on the other computer on my network. I guess that rules out the operating systems. There must be a setting in MOH or the router that i'm missing. Another one of my friends got booted with this message:
[CL_ParsePacketEntities]

and another message on a second boot:
[Unrecognized Entity Field Type 23283 for field 201]

Is there a setting in console i must enter to serve through a router? I wonder how many people are hosting through a linksys router. Please post any other thoughts you guys might have. TIA
