Pretty said but that's what you get in a theocracy. But to say they will start exterminating them is pretty ridiculous. They make up 5-10% of the population, I think.

My article basically said that Iran just passed a law to make christians and jews wear identifying symbols, like the stars the jews had to wear during the holocaust.

I would hate to live in a Muslim country, it'd be so awful compared to living in a western country.

Have you even lived in an islamic country as either a native or foreigner? No so how could you even compare it.

And anyway as by machettes link what you posted actually is bullshit.

I mean me, right now moving to Iran, not if I grew up there, but if I moved there right now, I would hate it.

And as for the article, sorry, I guess I assumed that Canadians had to check their articles before posting them.

Either way, I still stand with what I said about Muslim countries, I would hate to go from the US to a country that is so restrictive of the rights of its citizens, especially non-muslim citizens.

You can not compare unless you have experienced both sides.

Yeah conrad black founded the post, which is probably canada's worst paper. On election day I remember they ran a front page article saying you should vote for the conservative party..pretty fair and balanced. oOo: The asper family owns it now and I know many will roll their eyes when they see this but they are pretty pro-Israel. Just like Black who is facing charges for taking money from his company. The asper family also owns Jerusalem post, I believe.

Also this story is basically bunk. Everyone is starting to question why such a story was written and why at this crucial time and more importantly why is it from Canada? haha

It's ok because they (religionist nutcases) are in control. It's dumb to say anything bad could happen. Not many people could be effected.

Can you explain why you referred to these people this way? Next you point out that these people own a paper in Jerusalem. Why?

Ahh the story is a lie. Everybody says so. Ha!

I wouldn't put it past the Iranians to pass such a law, but that wasn't the point of my post. I looked at your first statements. Basicly your saying don't worry even if true because only a few people would be involved. Then your pointing out that the writers of the story are "pro-Israel" as if that makes them somehow unreliable or untrustworthy.

The first comment about the sadness of such a supposed law was taken out of context and I can see why - since so far I've been labelled a muslim fundamentalist sympathizer. Since that's etched into peoples minds thats how they see my responses. So I'll attempt to clarify it but doubt with any luck. I said it would be foolish to think they would start up a nazi type program to kill the jews and christians because they only make up 5-10% of the population. Why go through the trouble of doing such a thing to a small fragment of the population? And I bring up the exterminating anaglogy because our own stupid Canadian PM made a remark after reading the report in the paper saying something like 'When the nazis did this the world thought nothing of it. But the iranians are a serious threat to these minorities'

And I was pointing out their ideology and it's not the writers but the owners of the paper. Plus the national post is crap anyways. They have won the least amount of awards for their reporting and most of their coloumnist and reporters have conservative views. In canada every citizen knows the national post and the sun papers are conservative papers. The paper in general is unreliable and untrustworthy. However if you still believe such a law exist even though the only Iranian jewish MP said it doesn't be my guest.

Ownership of the newspaper doesn't matter in this case, the thing that matters it that the story was factually untrue. This isn't a case of bias, or perspective, they simply reported something that was inaccurate.
