Awesome, now we wait for the tech to die off and never be heard from again.

I have no faith in a 5 minute charge driving 500+ miles in a 4 door sedan that preforms like a Ferrari.

Not going to happen anytime soon. There is a limited amount of money to be made in this. Think of the thousands of jobs lost if we were to switch from oil/combustion based to a different form. It would be horrible for world economies, and corporations/governments won't let it happen.

[quote:0edf3]If it works as it's supposed to, it will charge up in five minutes and provide enough energy to drive 500 miles on about $9 worth of electricity. At today's gas prices, covering that distance can cost $60 or more; the EEStor device would power a car for the equivalent of about 4[/quote:0edf3]

Technology isn't the problem in finding new power sources. There are other factors at work.

Oil is not a renewable resource as I hope everyone knows. Therefore sooner or later it will run out. What then? How many jobs will be lost then? What will it do to the economy? If we do not have some sort of new type of power source, we will end up killing each other over the remainder of whatever oil is left in the next 100 years or so.

the problem is that it is currently not economically viable to find new sources of energy. Nobody wants to blow billions of dollars on a gamble with a new energy source.

I say we need to turn yellowstone into a big geothermal plant, but thats just me
