Default iTunes.. changing song names - 09-29-2006, 02:10 PM

is it possible to change the song names or artists of a song that you've deleted off your computer? it wont let me do it by just renaming the song in my library then updating the ipod. i can do it to songs that i havnt deleted...just not the ones i dont have anymore.

i dragged and dropped them from my bittorrent folder into itunes, so then it appeared in my library, then i deleted the songs from the bittorrent folder and it stayed in my itunes library. theres a ! icon beside all the songs i deleted.

The songs arent on your HD anymore, which means you cannot modify them. You deleted your entire folder you jsut DLed.

For future reference: Edit>Preferences>Advanced> and put a tick next to 'Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library'.
